This document contains information about repairing your computer disk, reinstalling OS X kept intact its files and user settings, using Time Machine to restore your system and erasing and reinstalling OS X.

Connect to the Internet
If you need to connect to the Internet, you can use a wired network connection or wireless. To connect to a wireless network:
Select a network from the Wi-Fi menu in the right corner of the menu bar (in the upper right corner of the screen).
If necessary, enter the password for the network.
To connect to a closed network, select "Sign in to another network." Enter the name of the network and, if necessary, the password.
Repair disk
If you have problems with your computer, or if when booting panel appears "OS X Utilities", you may need to repair your disc.
NOTE: If desired, write down these instructions before you close this window or leave Safari.
Select Safari> "Quit Safari", select "Disk Utility" in the panel "OS X Utilities" and then click Continue.
Select the disk or partition in the list on the left and then click on the "First Aid".
Click "Repair Disk".
If Disk Utility can not repair your disk, make a backup of all the information possible and then follow the instructions in "Clear and resinstalar OS X Mountain Lion" found later in this document.
Reinstalling OS X Mountain Lion
In certain circumstances it may be necessary to reinstall OS X Mountain Lion. You can do this by keeping intact its files and user settings.
NOTE: If desired, write down these instructions before you close this window or leave Safari.
Select Safari> "Quit Safari" and make sure you are connected to the Internet. (To connect to a wireless network, follow the instructions in "Connect to Internet" earlier in this document.)
Select "Reinstall OS X" and then click Continue.
In the Disk Selection panel, select your current OS X disk (in most cases it is the only one available).
Click Customize to select or deselect optional software.
Click Install.
Use Time Machine to restore the system
If you delete and reinstall OS X Mountain Lion and previously created a backup copy of Time Machine, use the Restore utility to restore the computer to its previous state.
Use the Time Machine backup to restore data only in the origin of computer backup. For transferring information to a new computer, use Migration Assistant (in the Utilities folder in Launchpad).

Select Safari> "Quit Safari" and then, if the backup is on a Time Capsule, make sure you connect to the Internet. (To connect to a wireless network, follow the instructions in "Connect to Internet" earlier in this document.)
Select "Restore from a backup Time Machine" and click Continue.
Select a source backup, select the disk that contains the backup of Time Machine and then follow the instructions on screen.
Remove and reinstall OS X Mountain Lion
If you delete and reinstall OS X Mountain Lion will erase all information (user accounts, network settings and all files and folders). Before deleting OS X, back up all the files you want to keep copying them to another disk. Enter the network settings in Network preferences to provide reconnection once reinstalled Mountain Lion.

Select Safari> "Quit Safari" and make sure you are connected to the Internet (To connect to a wireless network, follow the instructions in "Connect to Internet" earlier in this document.)
Select Disk Utility and click Continue.
Select your disk from the list on the left and then click the Erase tab.
Select "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" from the Format pop-up menu, type a name for your disk, and then click Delete.
Once erased the drive, select Disk Utility> Quit Disk Utility. Select "Reinstall OS X", click Continue, and then follow the instructions in the installer to reinstall OS X Lion Mountain.
