The theme of the book is that you should always trust the people u know and never doubt your family and always stay together.
Perry and nick fleming needed the book because it helped them stay alive and without the book, they loose a yr of life each day and they are most likely to die within a month.
Dr. John Dee wanted the codex so he could rule the world with the elders.
Hekate is the god with three faces. she is the god who was able to awaken the twins. she basically was alive bc of the yggrasil and if the world of the tree dies she dies.
morrigan was the crow goddess and was with dee and bastat. shes related to both hekate and bastat. shes one of the dark elders.
2. bastat was the one who sent the cats and was the one who started the battle against hekate.
torc alta is a were wolf who helps hekate guard the shadow realm.
scatty doesnt drink blood
they should trust no one except each other (the twins)
nick and scatty say that hekate is called the goddess of the three faces for a reason, in the morning shes a girl, in the afternoon shes a young lady and in the night shes an old woman.
in ancient books the 4 elements are air, water, earth and fire.
theres a 5th element called the magic of time that only the codex has.
dr. john dee wanted the codex cus with it, he could control time himself.
the way he went against fleming was that he was once in his attic and a gargoil came down the chimney and inv him to meet at the top of the cathedral. dee waited on the roof and wished he could fly but morrigan came and told him the story of the elder race and how elders want to return being thr rulers. the morrigan promised that dee would be the master of the entire world if only he would steal the codex from nick and give it to the elders.
hekate dies because dee chops the tree and if the tree dies, hekate dies, so hekate melted.
senahket is the minion of morrigan.
they attack the shadow realm to have a battle so hekate doesnt die with out the tree.
If nick uses his powers more and more he can weaken more and more and he will age faster.
sophie was unconsious after she got awakened.
josh wasnt awakened by hekate cus by the time they finished with sophie, hekate can smell her tree burning and had to run to her tree b4 she can do josh. so sophie only had magic in her.
dee's sword was once king arthurs sword.
perry is trapped in a jail cell cus dee got her. so she tries to think of a spell that she can use on the guards but shes so weakened from her contact with ghost.
then she got angry cus jefferson told her that her husband and sophie and josh and scatty were in danger that her aura got her out of the jail.
jefferson miller is the ghost that talks to perry and tells her if her husband is in danger or not.
in the puddle perry sees what she saw in jeffersons eyes and then puts a spell on sophie and says sophie wake up, and then she goes into sophies body and fights for everyone else and saves everyone and gets the codex and then after that, sophie goes unconsious again.
they go to the witch and sophie all her powers.
scatty and dors reunite.
dee tracks down josh.
b4 dee can get anything dora builds a mirror to transport them to paris and leave dee behind.
jefferson goes to prenelle and tells her that fleming, sophie, josh, and scatty are safe. but perenelle realizes that she has 1 month to live.
