Peru is a unitary semi-presidential republic, it won its independence from Spain on December 9th, 1824 after a bloody three-year-long war. People in Peru are called Peruvians. The capital of Peru is Lima, where the federal government resides. The motto of Peru is “Firme y feliz por la unión”, or “Firm and Happy for the Union". Its’ anthem is “Himno Nacional d
el Perú”. Peru's flag is here, the meaning of it is very interesting. The red and white was chosen by Peru's liberator, Jose San Martin. The coat of arms features a llama and a chichona tree, important things to Peruvians. A cornucopia is on the flag, representing prosperity. Peru's president is Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, who won the 2016 elections. Here is the currency of Peru, it is called a sol. 3 US dollars = one Peruvian sol. The languages of Peru are shown here, the most prominent language is Peru is Spanish. Native Americans who live in Peru mostly speak Quecha and Aymara. Peru is, after all, a very interesting and exciting nation, and its government is not an exception.
