I have gotten into such challenges with other people multiple times within my own life but one of the most notable was perhaps relatively recently when I and anonther person got into a debate over whether it was appropriate for women to seek ordination within their faith. The person whom I was in debate with was a practicing ROman Catholic and as such argued that it was not right for women to become ordained as preists or pastors as told by (Catholic) church law. This was different from my own perspective which is that the process of ordination is eglitarian in nature since both men and women can seek it.
