On October the 14th U2 spy planes took photos of missile sites and missile were identified. Keneddy was shown the photos and decided to do a navel blockade in order to prevent any more missiles going to cuba. However US called it a quarantine as blockade was a act of war. They allowed food etc but didn't allow any ships containing nuclear missile would be sent back .
During the 26th of October keneddy received a letter from Khrushchev saying that if you do not invade cuba we will promise to withdraw missiles.On 26th again keneddy received another letter from krushev demading the removal of the us missiles in turkey in excahnge for soviet missiles on cuba.
Finally, after an extremely tense October, the U.S. and Soviet Union come to terms. The U.S. agrees to remove missile bases in Turkey, while the Soviets agree to withdraw missiles from Cuba. The crisis is finsished
