1. Dark Magic Spell atau mantra Ilmu Hitam menunjuk pada suatu mantra sihir yang digunakan oleh sang pemakai yang bertujuan untuk melukai atau memberikan efek negatif yg buruk kepada sang penerima. Contoh Dark Magic Spell adalah : Avada Kedavra, Crucio, Imperio.
2. Dark Creatures adalah makhluk sihir hitam yang memiliki akal dan pikiran, sangat berbeda dengan satwa gaib normal yg tidak mempunyai itu. Dark Creatures jarang yg memerlukan berkembang biak, mereka dapat memperbanyak diri secara spontan. Contoh Dark Creatures : Banshee, Dementor, Vampire, Werewolf.
3. Dark Magic Poison atau Ramuan sihir hitam merupakan ramuan-ramuan yang biasanya cukup rumit dalam pembuatannya dan bahan-bahan yang diperlukan biasanya dr bahan-bahan langka. Namun tak sedikit ramuan dlm ilmu hitam yg dibuat dengan mudah. Contoh Dark Magic Poison : Amortentia, Polyjuice, ramuan kebangkitan Voldemort.
4. Dark Magic Items adalah hal atau benda yang digunakan sebagai penunjang akan kelangsungan sihir hitam. Contoh dari Dark Magic Items adalah Horcrux. Horcrux merupakan objek yg digunakan untuk menyimpan jiwa seseorang. Artinya seseorang itu membagi jiwa nya dengan horcrux tersebut. Dengan adanya horcrux maka pemiliknya tidak bisa dibunuh langsung.
