2. Alasan menyukai, karena ini adalah suatu anime dengan genre detektif. Dimana Yagami Light, mendapatkan sebuah buku "Death Note" yang mana notabenenya itu adalah buku dari seorang dewa kematian, Ryuk. Light menggunakannya untuk membasmi para penjahat di dunia dengan menuliskan nama penjahat tersebut didalam Death Note. Lalu, perbuatan Light tercium oleh dunia dan menyuruh sang detektif, L. Lawliet untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Sayangnya menurut saya, L selalu kalah satu langkah dengan Light, walaupun L tahu Light adalah dalang dalam "KIRA." Organisasi dimana Light membuatnya untuk membasmi kejahatan. Ditengah episode, L meninggal dunia menyebabkan Light semakin 'gila' untuk menjayakan Kira.
Adegan, Plot, Konflik, semuanya dibuat dengan apik oleh Tsugumi Ohba. Penonton dibuat penasaran dan juga terkadang jengkel dengan niat baik Light yang malah melenceng dari tindakan untuk kebaikan. Untuk efek dari anime tersebut sudah terbilang bagus untuk teknologi diera 2006.
