Cara Mengurangi Gejala:
Meski dapat sembuh tanpa obat-obatan, ada beberapa hal yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi gejala:
Berkumur sampai ke tenggorokan (gargle) dengan obat kumur antiseptik yang mengandung povidone-iodine, dua sampai lima kali sehari. Larutan antiseptik yang mengandung povidone-iodine dapat membunuh bakteri penyebab beberapa gangguan di mulut dan tenggorokan
Minum cukup air putih, terutama jika Anda sedang demam. Dengan minum air putih yang cukup Anda dapat meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh Anda.
Tidak merokok dan hindari lingkungan yang penuh asap.
Hindari iritasi tenggorokan dengan tidak mengonsumsi minuman atau makanan yang terlalu panas.
Berkumur dengan air garam hangat untuk meredakan radang atau bengkak di tenggorokan.
