Berdasarkan pengalaman Hermione dan Harry yang dapat melihat Rumah Potter di Godric's Hollow, padahal rumah tersebut sudah di fidelius, dapat disimpulkan bahwa mantra fidelius dapat punah ketika sang penanam mantra meninggal, maka mantra fidelius pun tidak lagi bekerja.
Pada Grimmauld Place 12, diasumsikan bahwa Sirius Black adalah spellcaster dari rumah tersebut, dan Dumbledore adalah secret keepernya. Namun, Sirius Black meninggal pada tahun ke-5 Harry berada di Hogwarts, dan Grimmauld Place masih dalam pengaruh fidelius. Artinya, rumah tersebut tidak berada dalam sihir Sirius.
Berdasarkan analisa kami, kemungkinan yang menjadi spellcaster adalah Severus Snape.
