Personal Statement

My passion for Spanish started when I made my first friend in Year 7, she was a Spanish exchange and she could barely speak any English. I was so fascinated by the way her brain was trying to understand the language and how well she was communicating with me, even though she had only been in England a couple of weeks. My aim was to try to communicate to her and this is when I started to want to become fluent in Spanish. This sparked my ever growing love for the worldwide community especially in the Hispanic countries. To be able to immerse myself in different cultures while interacting with the habitants, is a life long goal that I could turn into reality if studying Spanish ******** at University. The year abroad in the course really catches my eye, ???***

I have been playing sport since I was very young and throughout my time at school sport was definitely something that I took very seriously. I was appointed Captain of Hockey at Dean Close Senior School in my upper sixth year and this title meant I looked over all the girls' hockey within the school aswell as being in charge of the First Team. This role allowed me to be a someone the girls looked up to, aswell as helping me improve my leadership qualities. Being able to get my first cap for England White Team in the Sainsburies School Games was a humbling yet extremely exciting experience. To be involved in a multinational competition and being able to be treated like a professional athlete gave me the opportunity to mature as a player and cope with the challenges thrown at me.
