The Legend Of The Lost Colony:

It was the year of 1587, we were all boarding the boat. The boat contained 91 men, 17 women, and 9 children including myself. The leader of the trip was a guy by the name of John White. We were the second group making the trip to Roanoke. The first group was short food but we packed a decent amount of food.

We settle on the new land yesterday and the women and children had to stay on the boat while Mr.John was talking to a man. At first it was calm talking although i couldn’t understand what the man was saying. Then talking turned to yelling and yelling resolved in one gunshot from Mr.White’s pistole. He then gestured for the women and children to exit the boat.

It’s been about the weeks and already we’re out of food. So Mr.John sends 3 of the strongest men to hunt for food. 5 women are sent into the wooded area of the island to gather berries. The men return with a deer; the deer is then skinned and set over the fire. The women return a little later with blueberries. After eating we board the boat. Mr.John explains it’s for are safety, but why would you bring children on a dangerous voyage i wonder.

This morning i overheard some men talking to Mr.John about how they were going to return to get food and be back in three months. That night Mr.John and the other men set back home to get food and return back to the island. After Mr.John left the days became hectic, people acted like since they had no leader there were all of a sudden no rules to follow. Everyone wanted to be the one in charge.eventually a man stepped up he was no leader compared to Mr.white. He was more of a dictator then a problem solver.

It’s been two months since john white left and as you may now if there is a chance for things to get worse they most likely will. The new leader sucks he killed a man today for not referring to him as master. He’s not very good with people. Today my friends and i were playing tag in the woods and a little boy from the other siand of the island ran into me. He wanted to play. Shortly after he joined our game his mother called him. They seemed like such nice people. I never understood why Mr.John never let us go near them. I mean they were here way before we ever were the least we could do is be nice.

It’s been three months so where is Mr.John and the other men? If he takes any longer the new leader might just execute us all. There are only 18 men 10 women and 7 children. The new leader decides to send some of us to a new place that they refer to as “CROATOAN” he picks 5 men 4 women and the children to go with him to “CROATOAN”.
After they left we got yet again a new leader. He is a tall, scrawny man. He is must more civil than our last leader. The other group of people on the island start taking people from our group in and showing them how to do certain things. Like how the make houses out of twigs, how to fish and what berries to eat and which ones to avoid.
