Proses ingatan ada 3 tahap yaitu
1. memasukkan informasi (encoding)
2. penyimpanan (storage)
3. mengingat (retrieval)
♡ Retrieval
Retrieval atau proses mengingat kembali merupakan suatu proses mencari dan menemukan informasi yang disimpan dalam memori untuk digunakan kembali bila dibutuhkan.
Retrival ini sendiri terbagi dalam 2 fungsi, yaitu:
a) implisit
----> kemampuan kita dalam mengingat sesuatu dalam keadaan tidak sadar.
Contoh : ketika menonton sebuah film kartun di ulang terus menerus, maka kalian secara tidak sadar akan mampu mengingat setiap bagian demi bagian dalam film tersebut tanpa harus mengingatnya secara sadar.
b) eksplisit
----> kebalikan dari fungsiimplisit. Artinya memori ini bekerja secara sadar.
Ada 2 cara untuk mengembalikan ingatan eksplisit ini.
i) Recall
----> proses mengingat kembali informasi yangdipelajari di masa lalu tanpa petunjuk yang dihadirkan.
ii) Recognize
----> proses mengenal kembali informasi yang sudah dipelajari melalui suatu petunjuk yang dihadapkan.
Kelupaan terjadi karena materi yang disimpan dalam ingatan itu jarang ditimbulkan kembali dalam alam kesadaran maka terjadilah kelupaan.
▷ Faktor penyebab kelupaan
Adapun beberapa faktor yang memengaruhi atau membuat kita lupa. Selain faktor usia, dapat juga karena aktivitas yang terlalu padat. Kejenuhan, sering menunda-nunda suatu hal, otak yang sudah lelah, kecelakaan, terkena penyakit, dan lain-lain.
