Okay so This story happened a couple of days ago, i was walking down the street with my friends, as we were on our way to McDonald, one of my friends spotted a Visa Debit card on the ground and picked it up, we read out the numbers of the card and we figured it was to someone who had a lot of money because the card numbers were quite ancient. after thinking about the solution for a couple of minutes, we decided to call the service center of the bank, we spent around 2 hours attempting to contact them, completely wasted all the time that we were supposed to be hanging out with. Right after we gave up hope on finding them and decided to postpone it till the other day so that we could go to the bank, my friend decided to give them a call one last time. fortunately they answered us and told us that the card has been canceled and they just hung up on us without even trying to thank us for doing the right thing, we could have easily just took the money that's in there and robbed the guy. Now my issue is, ever since we were young, all of our so called "christian" parents used to teach us to be the good guys, not to rob someone under any circumstances, no matter how much we were in need, "be the good Samaritan" they said, after being done with the card issue i realized that to be part of this cruel world, being the good guy will make you feel proud but you wont get anything out of it honestly, maybe sometimes, we weren't looking for a reward, a small thank you would have done the job, it would have probably made me feel good to the fact that i did something good. Also i want to talk about the fact that ever since we were young, our parents used to shout at us for playing games, whether video games or any other, "it will make you violent and give you a bad example of the world". I am 100% sure that if i never played these games i would have probably let my greed get over me, you know that when you play video games, most of the times you want to be the good and have the good karma so that you just feel good about yourself. This event is probably the smallest experience i ever had, but i probably learned a lot from it. Don't expect a thank you or anything good when you do good deeds. Just expect your parents to tell you that god is proud of you, "God" again.
