1. Install the tools Open the Terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T), paste this, and press Enter: sudo apt update && sudo apt install remmina remmina-plugin-rdp proxychains4 -y
2. Open the proxy config Paste this command: sudo nano /etc/proxychains4.conf
3. Edit the config (The only manual part)
Use your arrow keys to scroll to the very bottom.
Look for the line: socks4 127.0.0.1 9050
Change it to look like this (replace the bracketed info with your IPVanish Proxy details): socks5 104.36.180.119 1080 0MZcUHQrzN gTe5bDwr08g
Note: Use the SOCKS5 credentials from the IPVanish website, not your normal email login.
Press Ctrl+O, then Enter to save.
Press Ctrl+X to exit.
4. Start Remmina through the proxy Paste this command to launch the app: proxychains4 remmina
5. Connect to VPS
In Remmina, click the + (plus) icon.
Enter your VPS IP, Username, and Password.
Click Save and Connect.
