In its past life, Intertwined's unique handmade throw pillow was a corte - a traditional handwoven Guatemalan Mayan skirt. The fabric will be cut to best complement the pattern of the fabric, resulting in slight differences in size. Our handwoven silk ikat fabric is used on the reverse side of the pillow cover. In addition, I used a couple of techniques I learned a long time ago when I was making pillows with commercial fabric. After giving the fabric a long time out, this past weekend, I decided it would make great pillows for our porch furniture. When my shawl fabric proved to be too stiff, I decided to make pillows instead.
Due to the handwoven nature of this item, the sizes may vary slightly. The wool in these pillow covers is processed by hand, and thus, you may find some organic matter in the weave which only enhances their beauty.
