A Wrinkle In Time


In the beginning of the book, A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’engle, a boy named Charles Wallace and his sister Meg, and a boy named Calvin go on a huge adventure in space trying to rescue Meg and Charles Wallace’s father. However, the youngest one, Charles Wallace, is accidentally put under the power of It. Which is a giant brain that controls the planet of Camazots. By the time they finally see It they find Meg’s father but, they unfortunately have to leave without Charles Wallace.

The main character Meg is insecure because she thinks that she is ugly and not very smart. Meg is always getting in trouble and not getting good grades in school. When her father was still with her he would teach her a lot of shortcuts in math, so in school she sees things differently then other people. As the book goes on, she slowly begins to realize that her faults are what makes her original and beautiful.

Charles Wallace, Meg’s little brother and before their father left, Charles Wallace never spoke. Now, Charles Wallace has a very big vocabulary and thinks highly of himself. Near the end of the book Charles Wallace thinks that he can do a lot more than he actually can do and ends up under the power of It. But Charles Wallace is a very smart boy.

In the end Meg ended up having to go back to Camazots alone and then she found out the one thing It didn’t have that she did and it was love. She brought Charles Wallace and everybody else back to earth. Then they became a complete happy family. I do not think I will read the series because I don’t really enjoy books that have giant brains and anything to do with space.
