Technical tips on keeping a pokemon ask blog.

1-Background Images are important.

This could apply to any blog really. If I’m going to browse your blog, I’d like to have a pleasing image in the background, to ease the navigation. Avoid Lime Green, Hot Pink and Blinding Cyan as colors, those hurt the eyes.
Also Try to avoid animated gifs, since the quality can be lost when turned into a background.
Try to make your background something that tiles correctly. That means something that you can put side to side and it will look like it’s a huge image.
2-Use the Sidebar Wisely.

Its use is pretty much what you want it to be, but i recommend having the basic data of your pokemon in it ((attacks, nature, level, etc)), But also, a short summary of the setting, this means, where your character is, what he does, and maybe some relationships with other pokemon.
Navigation buttons. These can help a lot, you only need to do a quick Google search on how to add buttons on Tumblr. Add buttons for certain tags, to find the FAQ, and remember to link to important posts, that your new viewers need to see in order to understand what’s going on (if you have a blog that has a plot that’s moving fast currently)
3- Handwriting or Typing?

Consider checking your handwriting, is it understandable? are your “n”’s and “v”’s and “r”’s too similar? Try typing instead. If you want to search for an interesting font that fits your characters, I recommend Blambot.com, they have a huge arrange of free fonts you can use.
4- Header.

This is a preference one, but in my opinion, a header shouldn’t be big, and it should have transparent background, to be more pleasing to the eye. It also should feature the main characters of your blog.
If you don’t have a program to make pictures with transparent backgrounds, i recommend downloading gimp or paint.net, or any free Photoshop alternatives.
5-Links to other blogs.

Use your sidebar, to link to your other blogs, personal and other pokeask blogs, people sometimes are interested in your art and more about you the more they get to know ya.
You could add links to other pokeask blogs you want to promote, but do it at the bottom of your own blog. I’ll provide the code for it.
<a href=“LINK URL”><img src=“IMAGE URL”/></a> Copy and paste this in the bottom part of the HTML of your blog page, will enable you to put an image that links to another page. Just replace LINK URL and IMAGE URL.
6- Image hosting.

Sometimes, when you want to reply with an image, the only way to do it it’s by inserting an image trough a link. Some image hosting sites do not support all the internet browsers, that’s why I recommend tinypic.com.
