Bunga ini memiliki rupa seperti bunga melati , yaitu berwarna putih dan akan berubah menjadi transparan ketika terkena air. Bunga ini juga memiliki banyak sebutan seperti bunga kerangka, bunga kaca, bunga payung lantaran waktu transparan.
Disebut bunga kerangka karena yang terlihat hanya urat-urat halus seperti kerangka. Bunga ini sepertinya juga agak langka mengingat informasi mengenai tanaman ini hanya sedikit.
Berjalan keliling kelas. Kenapa bisa disebut bunga payung juga? Karena tanaman ini bisa dikenali dari daunnya yang besar seperti payung yang diatasnya ada grup kecil bunga putih mutiara yang mengalami transformasi ajaib dalam hujan.
Diphylleia grayi dapat tumbuh di pegunungan berhutan lembab di daerah dingin dari Jepang serta China dan bunganya akan mekar di akhir musim semi.
