One thing I've really began to appreciate through my gap year is my connection with the people around me. Whether it's my friends and family or my customers at Starbucks I want to make people happy and see them smile. At CU Boulder, I'm hoping to learn more about what interests me while being surrounded by peers who are either doing the same or have already discovered their passion. I'm choosing to start with Computer Science and venture towards learning more about cybersecurity as their importance in our society quickly grows. I've used technology my entire life and with each new update I continue to be amazed, especially with all the recent AI advancements. I believe that my future is at CU Boulder. I've visited frequently to see my friends and I've fallen in love with all this University has to offer. Through events, classes, or even dinner at the dining hall I can tell students here are eager to build connections and most importantly learn. Boulder is only an hour away from home, making it easier to visit family on occasion and still feel like I'm far away enough to experience more life outside of home. I am fortunate enough to have an older sister who studies and lives up in Boulder, we truly aren't as close due to the age difference but I believe that my time up there can grow our sibling bond and provide the familial comfort whenever I need it.
