Aconite atau biasa disebut sebagai Monkshood, atau Wolfsbane. Tanaman ini memiliki nama botanical yaitu Aconitum Napellus, yang berasal dari keluarga N.O. Ranunculaciae.
Ciri Utama Aconite:
- Kelopak bunga berwarna ungu kebiruan
- Batangnya berukuran sekitar 1 meter.
Seluruh bagian dari tumbuhan ini sangat beracun. Di ujung batang tanaman Aconite, terdapat mahkota bunga Zigomorfik. Zigomorfik adalah tipe mahkota bunga yang memiliki ukuran dan bentuk berbeda di setiap mahkotanya. Biasanya, mahkota bunga dari tanaman ini berwarna biru, ungu, putih, kuning atau pink dengan benang sari yang banyak.
Kegunaan tanaman Aconite
Tanaman ini memiliki kegunaan bagi muggle dan penyihir. Kegunaan tanaman ini bagi penyihir adalah sebagai bahan untuk membuat ramuan yang disebut sebagai Wolfsbane Potion. Ramuan ini adalah ramuan yang dibuat untuk meringankan gejala Lycanthropy. Lycanthropy adalah proses transformasi manusia serigala. Jadi, tanaman ini hanya meringankan gejalanya saja dan tidak menyembuhkan. Namun, tanaman ini juga bisa membuat seseorang berubah menjadi manusia serigala dan juga membunuh manusia serigala. Tentunya dengan takaran yang berbeda-beda.
Terdapat 250 lebih species dari tanaman Aconite. Rata-rata mereka memiliki kegunaan dan ciri fisik yang hampir sama, hanya mungkin sedikit berbeda di bagian warna batang, bentuk daun atau mahkota bunganya.
