Gerhana adalah fenomena astronomi yang terjadi karena benda langit bergerak kearah bayangan benda langit yang lain. Gerhana ada 2 macam, yaitu Gerhana Matahari dan Gerhana Bulan.
Gerhana Matahari terjadi saat bulan tepat berorbit diantara bumi dan matahari, dengan demikian matahari akan tertutup oleh bulan dan permukaan bumi yang tertutup bayang-bayang bulan akan mengalami Gerhana Matahari. Gerhana Matahari ada 4 macam, yaitu: Gerhana Matahari Total, Gerhana Matahari Sebagian, Gerhana Matahari Cincin dan Gerhana Matahari Hibrida.
Gerhana Bulan terjadi saat seluruh atau sebagian penampang bulan tertutup oleh bumi. Dengan keadaan bumi berada diantara matahari dan bulan pada satu garis lurus yang sama. Gerhana Bulan terbagi menjadi 3 macam, yaitu: Gerhana Bulan Total, Gerhana Bulan Sebagian dan Gerhana Bulan Penumbra.
