We are talking today about the antebellum period. First we are going to start with the population of the south during and how many slaves the south had. The south had a population of 9,250,000.The number of slaves in the south was 3,200,000.While the north had barley any slaves at all.A population of 22,000,000. Now lets talk about the economy the south maid money by farming and trading with other people.Farming was the main way because there was the perfect weather and most everyone loved to do it.The social classes are very similar.Its all the farm people here and non farm people here.
The only thing i have to tell you now is about how they got around and how they dressed. they got around by trains, wagons, horses and if they had to go far away they would use a boat. now, to how they dressed, women wore long, big, puffy dresses. with bonnets on their heads. On the other hand men wore usually wore nice suit and small bow ties. And if your wondering what the farmers wore, then we will tell you. they wore the same thing as the classy people. because even though they were know as farmers they rarely ever did any of the farm work. they got the slaves to do it for them.
Next we are going to talk about three southern colonies.The first one is Maryland.Maryland was founded by Cecil Calvert lord Baltimore and others in 1633. The Maryland colony was named after kings gorge's the firsts wife Henrietta Maria.
The next colony is Virginia. Virginia was the first colony to sell tobacco. they can grow crops and sell tobacco all year long because of the perfect weather for farming. A fun fact about Virginia is that gorge Washington lived there for most of his life. a fact about gorge Washington is that even though most people thought that he was the perfect American he owned slaves too.
The last colony is Georgia. Georgia was named after the king gorge of England. Another fact about Georgia is that it was founded 50 years after the other colonies.in conclusion, we have learned a lot writing this paper and we hope that you have learned a lot by listening to us read this paper.
