Margot doesnt fight and isn't she...? Margot! Margot! margot! That's all I hear from everyone..¨ (Goodrich and Hackett). The first conflict is that the Nazis are forcing jews to go into hiding and if they are caught they will be persecuted. The conflict is there because it is the most important conflict in the story. If this conflict had not been occurring then there would probably have been no story written about anne frank and her family and friends. This quote I feel explains well, ¨As my family is jewish, we emigrated to holland when hitler came to
power...you could not do this and you could not do that¨ (goodrich and Hackett). Since hitler came to power he started to oppress jew and limit their abilities to do basically anything. Another conflict that occurred in the story is when Mr van Daan was stealing food that was supposed to go to the children. The author of the book states, ¨The Bread! He was stealing the bread!¨ (goodrich and Hackett). In the book this was so important that Dussel tried to strangle him and Mrs Frank wanted to kick them out.
