Come out to support the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project's youth center, Passages! Passages is Kansas City's only youth center dedicated to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning youth, and straight allies, operating now for over 23 years.
Come out and support Passages youth as they showcase their many talents at the Arts Asylum! This event will spotlight the youths' vocal and dance abilities. Art created by Passages youth will be on display and on sale to purchase. This event will also feature performances by KC Sunshine and the Legends. The 6th Annual Harvest Moon American Indian Festival is a celebration of culture, arts and tradition in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. Showcasing the finest of Native American performers, dancers and artists and artisans. As we as Urban Indians break stereotypes, share our strength and offer an opportunity to learn the history of the Osage Trail (modern day Troost Avenue which became known as the Santa Fe Trail.) Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery is excited to announce the eighteenth annual Día de Los Muertos exhibition! This show celebrates the rich color and history of the Mexican holiday and as always we invite artists and community members to create traditional and non-traditional personal altars and/or Day of the Dead inspired artwork for installation at the Mattie Rhodes Art Gallery.
• Opening Reception: Friday, October 7th, from 6:00pm-10:00pm
• Day of the Dead Street Festival: Saturday, October 8th, from 1:00pm-9:00pm
• 2nd Reception and Calaca Night Parade: Friday, November 4th, from 6:00pm-10:00pm
