I am currently a sixth form student, keen to start employment as soon as possible, preferably part-time Sunday and Saturday and evening work and I am more than happy to work any available overtime hours and throughout holidays. I am a hard-working, punctual and well mannered individual with customer experience. I’d love to work in a retail environment as I love to interact with people and help them to achieve what they set out to do. People go out of their way to spend time in shops of their choice and I strongly believe it is their right to be respected and leave with a smile on their face. On top of this I embrace a fast-paced environment where I can maximise my potential. I am fun-loving and like to keep a positive attitude at all times, reflected both in my own work and the working environment. I am self-driven and can work very effectively by myself, haven held great responsibility in past experience and embracing the chance to be efficient but equally innovative. I have also worked as an effective member of a team, working under tight deadlines to get the job done, but get it done to an excellent standard.

At school I was a Young Leader and Arts leader, both roles coming with their respective duties. I learned how to consider a wide range of views and to discuss and develop them as a team to do what was best for other people. The job gave me experience in leading and holding responsibility.

My interests include everything I study at Barton Peveril College; History, Business and Accounting, but also socialising and meeting new people. I avidly support my local football team, and enjoy other leisure activities. I also like to travel and experience new things.

Previous Work Experience

Botleigh Products Based in and around Southampton June 2009 - Present
Independent distributor
For the last two years I have been a distributor for Botleigh Products, working one day a month to deliver leaflets and advertising over my neighbourhood of six-hundred houses.

The Wild Group Shamrock Quay, Southampton June 2009 - September 2009
Assistant
They are a Graphic Design and Sign-making company and shop based in Shamrock Quay, Southampton. I enjoyed this job very much as it allowed me to interact with customers, use my creative mind to design products, and my hands to prepare and apply them. It was my job to interpret what customers wanted and work either solo or as a member of a team to manufacture and apply the product, often under strict instruction and pressurised deadlines, though still to the fantastic quality customers would expect of the company, protecting their positive reputation. On some jobs it was important to develop good working relationships with customers, so that problems could be easily talked out and dealt with. This job really helped my people skills grow and I loved what I was doing, and the fast-paced environment I was working in. I was also taught to monitor the stock for the company, checking the codes and quantities of different colours and styles of materials, and ensuring new stock was ordered in if necessary. Health and safety was very important in the workshop and I had to learn and apply these rules, cleaning up after myself and others and maintaining a clean, safe and good looking working environment.
