IWC Files Are No Mystery When You Use FileViewPro
An IWC file is a file associated with InstallWatch, a software installation monitoring tool. It is usually used to store captured information about changes made to a computer during a program installation. If it is inside a program folder, installer folder, AppData folder, or ProgramData folder, it likely belongs to a specific application and should usually be left alone. Deleting it may not damage Windows itself, but it could affect the program that uses it by removing stored installation records, settings, or project data.



It is also important to remember that the `.iwc` extension can sometimes be used by other programs, so the file extension alone does not always prove it came from InstallWatch. The folder location, file date, and related software on the computer are often better clues. As a practical rule, do not delete or edit an IWC file unless you know what program created it or you have made a backup first.
