Burung beo sangat terkenal di kalangan manusia karnna burung beo dapat berbicara lebih tepatnya menirukan perkataan apa yang sudah dikatakan manusia.
beo di alam hidup di hutan-hutan basah, terutama di bukit-bukit dataran rendah sampai daerah ketinggian 1000-2000 m di atas permukaan laut.
makanan beo adalah buah-buahan yang berdaging tebal tetapi tidak keras, dan meminum nektar bunga. untuk memenuhi protein ia memakan serangga seperti capung, belalang, jangkrik.
