I want my zine to be an intellectual and engaging way to create an understanding of Theresa May as our prime minister. i want the zine to mainly be focused on feminism and whether May becoming Prime Minister is a victory for women. i want to achieve this by looking into her policies, past and present, to see what sort of rights she supports and which she opposes. the time i am creating this zine is crucial - she is currently starting to come out with different opinions and policies and we are slowly starting to get a closer look at what sort of government we are going into. After the result of Brexit, this is a very crucial time for the UK with a lot of decision making to be done - I want my zine to explore how May tackles this with a high focus on womens rights as well as what the future may hold for Young Adults.
I want my zine to be engaging for Young Adults and therefore would like to use a lot of imagery rather than it being text based. I would like the zine to have an experimental feel. I want to approach the different topics of May as a way of creating an understanding for people. I will do this by focusing on different topics on every page. Whilst giving my own opinion, I want to make sure the reader is able to create their own opinion on May and her leadership, using my zine as the tool to help them. I think it is extremely important that Young Adults take an interest in current politics as a lot of the decisions currently being made affect us the most.
