http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Major_characters
There are some notable figures in World of Warcraft that we cannot merely forget about. These NPC's are stuck with us for years to come because of various reasons both good and bad. Here are 10 Memorable NPC's in World of WArcraft.
Rexxar
http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=10182
Now in vanilla as you probably know, there were no such thing as flying mounts, it was a thing that so many people desired in Vanilla, and why? Because of Rexxar, a champion of the horde who was renowned for his rediculously extensive patrol range, patroling from desolace through to feralas and then through to stonetalon upon making his way back, very very slowly. Now this was the source of much trolling, as you could imagine asking for Rexxars location could be very problematic. Many people decided that they wanted to troll the location which sent the masses on wild goose chases, however there was the odd person or two that were willing to tell the truth. Many people even said that they made absolutely sure to avoid levelling in Desolace in vanilla purely because it could take hours upon hours to proceed any further when you had to find Rexxar for a quest.
Captain Placeholder
http://wow.gamepedia.com/Captain_Placeholder
Once again in Vanilla, a more convinient way of travelling was via either, boat or zepplin. Now what happens when these stop working and basically glitch out. Captain Placeholder is what happens, Captain placeholder is an NPC that was brought into the game and is still frequently brought into the game when some components aren't working as they should be. In 2005 he was placed into the game because of a glitch between the boat travelling from menethil harbour to Auberdine, now what does Captain placeholder do, well as his name suggests he is a placeholder for the boat that was not working, and he basically offered a free instant teleport to the other continent, and vice versa. Which was extremely convinient considering the wait for the boat was rather annoying and adding in the fact that it was bugging out. Yeah this guy, captain placeholder. He'll be remembered as a legend.
Baelog, Eric, and Olaf
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/zone/uldaman/the-lost-dwarves
Baelog, Eric and Olaf made their debut on a different game made by Blizzard called "The Lost Vikings" when Blizzard were actually known as Silicon and Synapse. As a homage to one of their earliest games Blizzard added these three lost dwarves into the Uldaman dungeon within the Dig Two Section, because Uldaman is such an old dungeon you can only assume that these dwarves have been around for a long, long time. In the earlier versions of Uldaman to proceed further into the dungeon you were required to open Ironaya's chamber that required the shaft of tsol and the Amulet of Gni'kiv now if you spell those two things backwards you get lost viking. Pretty interesting stuff.
Mankrik's wife
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Mankrik%27s%20Wife
Someone could make a documentary on this NPC because of how well known she is. Mankrik's wife, the wife of a famous warrior orc named Mankrik. Was killed in the barrens and you are instructed to find her and retrieve her dead body. Without the quest help we have today, you were on your own. But, there is no such thing as Mankrik's wife? that's correct, the quest item per say is not called Mankrik's wife it is instead called "Beaten Corpse" this sent thousands upon thousands of noobs searching all of the barrens for Mankrik's wife where in reality she was just called Beaten Corpse. This led to rediculous amounts of barrens chat trolling, when people would ask where is mankrik's wife frequently people would respond with "Next to illidan" or in Mount hyjal. In the years to follow Mankrik's wife is seen as something to laugh about dwelling on the sheer number of people who couldn't do this quest.
Marvin and Tamara Wobblesprocket
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=28568/tamara-wobblesprocket#objective-of
Now there aren't many things that are particularly out of the ordinary in World of Warcraft but these two NPC's just might be exactly that. Marvin and Tamara Wobblesprocket reside in the river's heart area of Sholazar basin in northrend. Now you might be thinking wait a second, I know them. Well you're probably right because they are one of the only notable interracial couples within World of Warcraft. When people found out about this gnome and human couple a lot of which were outraged and a lot of people merely thought, wow that's neat. Which it is, a relationship between two different races in world of warcraft is not a frequent sight. And to see it is just mind blowing.
Dumass
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=47444/dumass
I think it's safe to say that this individuals name speaks perfectly on behalf of all of the noobs that play this game and those that are just really unfamiliar of how the game works, we meet dumass as he plays a significant role in the quest Welcome to the machine in Silverpine forest and is remembered for not only his very outstanding name, but some of the quotes that he makes during the quest such as, Tarren mill?! okay is that in the Barrens? I'm on my way thanks! with every letter being emphasized through the use of the caps lock key. Now there was a point in which we were all noobs and if this NPC is not a striking representation of what it was like I don't know what was. Then again, I do remember being lost in the orc starting zone when I first started playing.
Gamon
http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Gamon
Personally I don't know how this guy isn't warchief yet, he has been around since vanilla sitting and watching a campfire. He's been killed countless numbers of times and in cataclysm he's killed players countless times. Gamon truly deserves the title he currently has of "The Hero of Orgrimmar" whether it be because whenever people got bored he was the target and he didn't complain once, or maybe it was the fact that he protected the horde from Deathknights in Wrath of the Lich king, becoming aggressive to any of those death knights running past him. Gamon definitely takes the cake for the most underappreciated NPC in the game thats for sure.
Budd
http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Budd
One of the more sad moments in our World of Warcraft careers was watching this heroic and noble explorer jump off the boat to Vash'jr and knowing that we potentially lost a significant character that has been with us for quite some time now. Budd Nedreck is an explorer who made his debut in World of Warcraft as the guy who sent us to do all the dirty work in Zul'aman back in burning crusade, then in Wrath of the Lich king, in an attempt to find new profit he made his way to the Grizzly Hills but because of his mental state was used as troll bait where he slammed frying pans at trolls while yelling tag whenever he managed to hit one. Then in cataclysm, he made a full recovery playing significant roles in the quest lines of uldum, which is his most suitable role considering his explorative nature. Needless to say, Budd has been around for a long time and maybe we will see this weird and whacky troll explorer again in legion.
Thrall
http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Thrall
Now I don't know much about the beginning and the overall lore of this character but Thrall is another huge, significant NPC in World of Warcraft with his notable role which most of you will probably know him as being the Warchief of the Horde and essentially founding orgrimmar. Thrall has been with us since the beginning of World of Warcraft and even prior to that having significant roles in the Warcraft games. After saving the world of warcraft numerous times fending off the most notable boss fights that we have encountered throughout our time playing. Thrall, will be making a return in Legion in which he resides in Dalaran awaiting and preparing to battle the Burning legion to once again save the World of Warcraft. Thrall is such a unique character which such a huge abundance of story behind him I would definitely recommend going and checking his whole story out if you're bored.
Hogger
http://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/5593238631
If you're new to World of Warcraft and you have no idea as to who or what this next NPC is I feel utterly sorry for you. In number __ we have Hogger. The level 11 elite riverpaw gnoll chief with 666 health residing in the Elwyn Forest, why 666 health, well because 666 is the number of the best and getting to hogger as a low level was a beast in itself. First of all you have to make your way through countless groups of gnolls ranging from level 10-12 which took at least half an hour, then once you make it to Hogger, your first Elite encounter. You soon realize that, you cannot solo it and have to find a group and repeat the process of killing the gnolls to get to Hogger. Although he isn't as renowned in the present day of World Of Warcraft. Hogger is one of the most memorable NPCs that will always have a place in our hearts long after World of Warcraft is gone.
On that note that is going to conclude the video for today if you enjoyed it leave a like down below and tell me if there is anyone I've missed because obviously I can't fit everyone in a list of 10. Subscribe if you're new or returning, this has been warcraftbible stay devoted. Check the description for all the information you need to know or if you just want to find out more about these NPC's. Once again let me know if you think I've missed someone I'm really curious.
