Revion Meltorial was at one point the most renown assassin in the criminal underworld. Many believed he was without a heart, without mercy; However, on one fateful day, he chanced upon a beautiful enchantress named Ellesméra with whom he quickly fell in love. After courting her, for longer than he would normally wait when staking out a house for when he would take a job, he eventually won her heart over. He made a vow to leave his history as an assassin behind for her; but the enemies he had made found him, forcing him to flee in order to keep his love safe. Unbeknownst to Revion, Ellesméra had become pregnant with twins, Ajihad and Cylenn. Ellesméra raised the twins on her own, but after falling ill to disease, the twins were soon left with only each other. Revion eventually returned from hiding to find that Ellesméra had passed. However, an old contact of his reached out with information about a certain set of twins that he might find interesting.
