Јабука се звала.
Дечак биљку обилазио
Чувао је, и пазио.
Јабука је срећна била
Весела и чила.
Све што има јабука даје
Да дечакова срећа не стаје,
Када јој дечак дође
Њена радост не прође.
Своје је тело дала
Да се на њу пење,
Па и своје танке гране
Да пријатељство не увене.
Стабло, па и све остало
што једна биљка има
Све је неповратно дала
Да би га срећним учинила.
Старост је дошла и он жеља нема
Сад као деда за вечни живот се спрема.
Разне жеље човек има
И жали за прошлим данима.
Јабука је и сад старцу добро дошла
Да се на пању одмара
И са сетом се сећа
Дивних прошлих дана.
Шта је све јабука дала
То значи да је постојала.
Њено срце велико је било
И за другог свашта је учинило.
Штета што је дечак нескроман био
Што јој није истом мером узвратио
Иако она ништа није тражила
Њена скромност врлина је била.
