Organization as you know will be key this year, with the movement from class to class. I developed a system to organize the desk and will be teaching it to the students on Tuesday. They will have an AM side for morning classes and PM side for their afternoon classes. A few parents who visited did ask for other tips and I am happy to share, since you know your student best you may choose what best fits their needs. In the past some parents chose to purchase an enclosed binder with expandable sections to keep all materials together in one place and label according to periods to help the student keep track of any loose papers or store their notebooks and folders in for safekeeping.
We organize subjects by color which we will cover on Tuesday. Math is blue, Science is green, Language Arts is yellow and VA Studies is red. This is an additional tool that helps students quickly know where to look along with subject labels we provide to them for their notebooks and colored files.
Daily planner will be taught to your student on filling out important information to communicate home. A daily schedule will be glued in the front for the student along with a key of User Names and Passwords for programs integrated in the class to support the instructional guidance and curriculum taught.
