1. Ikan hiu adalah sekelompok (superordo Selachimorpha) ikan dengan kerangka tulang rawan yang lengkap dan tubuh yang ramping serta bernafas menggunakan 5 insang/lebih tergantung spesies. Hiu juga merupakan ikan yang menakutkan bagi para pelayan atau penghuni di air lainnya, karena ikan hiu bisa memangsa siapa saja lalu mencabik-cabiknya terlebih dahulu dengan giginya yang tajam. Ikan hiu terbesar di dunia pun tak akan bisa mengelak apabila sudah tertangkap.

5. Hiu ini memiliki panjang 14-18 meter dengan gigi yang runcing, dan diperkirakan hidup sekita 28 sampai 1,5juta tahun lalu.
