Nyanyian Fwooper meski awalnya enak dinikmati, akhirnya akan mendorong sang pendengarnya menjadi gila. Karena hal itu, akibatnya Fwooper dijual dilengkapi dengan Mantra Pembisu atau istilahnya Silencing Charm. Dan setiap bulan, mantranya perlu dikuatkan.
Para pemilik Fwooper perlu surat izin dalam memiliki Fwooper, karena hewan ini harus ditangani dengan penuh tanggung jawab.
Seorang penyihir aneh bernama Uric the Oddball pernah melakukan penelitian tentang Fwooper. Selama tiga bulan, Uric mendengarkan nyanyian Fwooper tanpa henti.
Beliau meyakinkan dewan penyihir bahwa mendengar nyanyian Fwooper bagus untuk kesehatan. Namun, Dewan penyihir tetap tidak percaya, karena Uric menghadiri pertemuan tidak memakai apa pun kecuali rambut palsu—yang diteliti lagi itu merupakan Musang yang telah mati, bukanlah rambut palsu.
Dalam namanya, kata 'Oddball' diartikan dengan 'Eksentrik'.
Uric the Oddball pernah berada dalam asrama Ravenclaw dikala berada di Hogwarts.
Fwooper melambangkan angka 4 dalam bilangan Rune, yang dikarenakan jumlah warna Fwooper sebanyak empat warna.
