Unicorn
Unicorn merupakan makhluk yang menyerupai kuda, berwarna putih dengan tanduk tunggal di dahi nya. Anak unicorn berwarna emas murni, dan berubah perak ketika mereka berumur sekitar 2 tahun. Setelahnya, tumbuh tanduk kira-kira pada umur 4 tahun. Saat umur 7 tahun, mereka sepenuhnya berkembang dan berubah menjadi putih terang. Kuku mereka berwarna emas, warna darahnya biru keperakan dan agak bersinar. Unicorn mendiami hutan-hutan Eropa Utara. Termasuk Hutan Terlarang di Hogwarts.
Beberapa bagian unicorn ini banyak digunakan untuk bahan pembuatan ramuan dan dipergunakan juga sebagai inti tongkat sihir. Rambut ekornya dapat digunakan sebagai perban karena rambutnya cukup kuat. Darah unicorn ini dapat membuat seseorang tetap hidup, darah yang paling berharga.
Seperti yang pernah dikatakan Firenze pada Harry Potter ditahun pertamanya:
"Kau akan tetap hidup meskipun sudah sekarat kalau minum darah unicorn. Tapi dibayar dengan hal yang mengerikan, karena telah membantai sesuatu yang sangat suci."
Bayarannya? Saat bibir peminum menyentuh darah unicorn tersebut, maka hidupnya otomatis menjadi half-life, hanya setengah hidup. Alias hidupnya terkutuk.
Tanduk tunggal unicorn digunakan untuk melambangkan nomor satu dalam Rune Kuno.
