Helen adams keller lahir di tuscumbia , alabama 27 juni 1880. Awalnya dia lahir normal tapi saat usianya 19 bulan ia diserang penyakit dan menyebabkan tuli serta buta. Ia memeliki kesulitan berkomunikasi sehingga menyebabkan dirinya stress dan frustasi. Saat usia 7 tahun helen dipercayakan kepada anne sullivan. Anne juga pernah mengalami hal.yg sama dengan helen. Anne dengan perlahan dan sabar mengajar helen dan mengontrol kebiasaan helen yang sering mengamuk. Perkembangan helen sangat pesat. Ia diajar melalui buku braille. Dengan buku braille itu ia mendapatkan banyak sekali wawasan.
Ia meninggal pada usia 87 tahun. Dan sangat banyak karya yang telah dihasilkan oleh helen.
