humans are a crazy things. i'm only 13 and i think i have been through my share of horrible moments. my parents got divorced when i was 3, my dad moved 5000 miles away to a village in southern Chile, and my mom practically is a bipolar witch who treats me the same as a plebeian, i watched my cousin get abused by her mom for a decade, the only "boyfriend" i ever had cheated on me, i get to see my 7 and 5 year old sisters grow up through photos, and i have hypothyroidism and a growing condition which requires me to take a pill every morning and inject myself hormones every night to give my 4'11 self a sliver of hope. who knows what might come at me and tear me down even more, but i guess that is inevitable. i like to think i am a pretty strong person when it comes to handling bad situations. i think that humans as a species naturally don't have peoples best interest in heart. humans are self entitled and love to screw people over, just as long as they don't get screwed over. they hurt people by taking away what that person loves most to make them feel vulnerable. no, i don't think we should live isolated from humans for the sake of not getting hurt, i think that we should try our best to fight our instinct to hurt and surround ourselves with people who are worth getting hurt by. The only person who will ever really have your back is yourself, mainly because you would never want to bring yourself down, unless you are about that emo life already. you have to have your bad moments to know what good feels like. if i could say one thing to someone going through depression like i am, i would say don't change for anyone, change for yourself. love the little things about yourself, and compliment others. know that bad things happen to good people to make them become even better. express yourself when you're sad,to a friend, or to yourself or to your dog or in a journal. radiate good vibes, that helps numb pain better than any drink or pill. keeping feelings yourself can harm you much more than you think. do what makes you happy and don't give a damn about what others have to say, and live live so carefree to the point where it is difficult to take things seriously. that is the key to life, and it has taken me months of hidden depression to figure it out. i know no one is going to read this, but im writing this as a reminder to myself to never give up on life. you are worthy of being loved, so dont take shit personal.
