How is identity affected by economic, political, environmental, and social dimensions of globalization?
Identity is affected by economic dimensions of globalization because if the economy sucks, and you’re poor because the economy sucks because you got laid off, then you as a person may change, become more bitter, depressed, or be unable to support your family and that triggers a whole new change
Identity is affected by political dimensions of globalization because everything is controlled by politics. For example, if a new political party won an election and made a new law that we-won’t-trade-with-this-country-that-we-usually-trade-with then you, as someone who works a transnational plantation, may go out of business
Identity is affected by environmental dimensions of globalization because the world relies on the environment. Take the lubicon cree for example, their forests got cut down, rivers got poisoned, and all the animals scared off. That definitely affected the members of the lubicon cree.
Identity is affected by social dimensions of globalization because it’s unfair. In Ecuador, men had to go work their butts off for 6 dollars, the women had to work and got paid less than the men, and it still wasn’t enough to live on, so their kids had to work too, and so the kids didn’t get an education. If the whole situation had been kinder, then the kids could have gone to school, grown up to be a doctor, done amazing things, but they didn’t get to, just because people wanted bananas
