outer circle = asks questions and tracks one person from the inner circle

DAILY GRADE
lvl 1 - surface level questions
who, what, when and where
seen as reading ON the lines
no inferencing is need to answer a level 1 question
ex: who is a narrator of the story? where does the story take place?
lvl 2 - inferencing questions
ask about why and how of the story
requires people answering the question to use text evidence or specific examples from a text
reading BETWEEN the lines
ex: why do you think this character made that choice? how does the author use irony to develop the lesson of the story?
lvl 3 - opinion questions
requires the answerer to have an opinion about a topic related to the story
seen as reading BEYOND the lines
ex: what is human life worth? what does it mean to be evil?
