visible light is the only kind of light we can see (hence the name, DUHH)
*the visible spectrum is all the colors of light we can see, so the visible spectrum is a rainbow basically (plus brown and stuff)
*the reason they're always in rainbow order is because they're in order of wavelength and energy, red having the longest wavelength and least energy and purple having the shortest wavelength and most energy (that's why when ya go underwater red is the first color ya can't see, bc it has th least energy)
*if ya put all the colors of visible light together you get white, & that's why when ya put light into a prism it makes a rainbowwww) (thanks pink floyd)
most of the sun's radiation is visible light (dUHHH, what else would you be walkin' on??) but it also produces other kinds such as infrared and ultraviolet (sunburn light is ultraviolet)
now you're probably askin' me, if all the colors make white, what makes black?? that's a good question actually I wish I had asked that in school
black is actually the lack of visible light
so if the sun didn't emit visible light, the sky would be black through the whole day
that's why it's black at night, bc the sun left you ya lonely fuck
if you're goin like "well chloe,,,,,, when I mix all the marker colors together it makes black!!!!!! nnot white!!!"
that's because this really only applies to light, goddamnit
