MongoDB was written with the idea of creating a robust, simplistic and scalable database system which would push the boundaries in the NoSQL ecosystem . Over the years, it has continued to achieve new milestones and is indeed a developer favorite . Whenever I come up with an idea to build something where the data seems to be unstructured, MongoDB is my to-go database . I have a decent amount of experience with MongoDB as I have completed a few number of projects with it on the back. I tend to use DaaS services such as MongoLab in most of my projects. Over the course of time, I seem to have discovered certain flaws or UI improvements in such platforms . With the introduction of MongoDB's new DaaS service, Atlas, I believe I would be able to implement my ideas and be of value if given a chance to work on this service . Working on the core MongoDB projects or MongoDB University should also be equally exciting .
My interest in databases and system softwares has further motivated me to create a distributed database of my own . Over the past few weeks, I, with a few friends have been working on an in-memory key-value store based on the RAFT consensus protocol looking to cross 10K writes/sec . We believe , we can achieve it irrespective of improper guidance in our community .
I believe working at MongoDB in the start of my career would be the best thing that can happen to me at this stage . It would make me a better systems programmer . I would interact with the people whose Github profiles I admire . Moreover, it would be the perfect place where I can nurture my interests and passion for computer science further .
