John Locke believed that the main reason to get a government was to make them help the people in their area to get equal natural rights and to protect and define its citizens. He also said that all people should have life, liberty, and property. Many people agreed and liked his idea that they wanted a government to be equal and to give freedom in their country. What happens if this didn't happen? Our country would be like the movie The Purge where everyone is free to do anything and no rules and laws, there would just be a lot of crime and fights. it says "where every man is allowed complete discretion in the retaliatory use of force, according to the laws of the jungle, is nothing more than a state of anarchy — perpetual civil war and gang warfare.". This is a great example of what would happen if John's opinion about having a government didn't provoke the people, just would have a lot of chaos and to much freedom. I do think that the government would have more benefits because John Locke talked mostly about what he thought was the principle purpose of government. That does not mean that government can not or should not have other purposes. Of course he would say that if the government gets too large, it can be a danger to the people.
