SEJARAH ARITHMANCY
PENDAHULUAN
Arithmancy adalah ilmu yang mempelajari sifat magis angka, termasuk memprediksi masa depan dengan angka(berhitung). Orang yang mempelajari Arithmancy disebut Arithmancers.
ETIMOLOGI
Arithmancer dan Arithmancy berasal dari bahasa Yunani αριθμός (arithmos), yang artinya "angka" dan μαντεία (manteia), yang artinya "ramalan". Oleh karena itu, "Arithmancy" adalah "Ramalan dengan menggunakan angka" yang hasil perhitungannya tepat.
Bridget Wenlock dikenal sebagai Arithmancer terkenal, dan orang pertama yang menemukan sifat magis dari 7 nomor-nomor.
Sifat magis dari arithmancy tersebut termasuk memprediksi masa depan dengan cara yang lebih ringkas dan akurat dibanding ilmu ramalan lainnya.
Arithmancy bercabang dua, yaitu Numerology dan Grammatica. Numerologi, sebagai studi dan magis esoteris jumlah, dan Grammatica, tata bahasa dalam bahasa Latin, menunjukkan hubungan antara kata dan angka.
