Jadi arithmancy adalah materi ramalan melalui angka-angka atau jumlah. Arithmancy mirip-mirip dengan mata pelajaran muggle yang disebut Matematika.
Penyihir yang ahli di bidang Arithmancy dikenal dengan Arithmancer. Yang paling dikenal adalah Bridget Wenlock dan Septima Vector.
Terdapat beberapa metode, seperti Metode Agrippa oleh Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa dan Metode Chaldean.
