Homework?!?
I am sitting in my chair with my classmates. I look up at the school clock, which is always a minute behind. And I notice that we have three minutes left of class. ‘Wooo! three more minutes till the weekend’ I shout out in my mind. I am getting ready to pick up my backpack and my lunch and get out. And I see my classmates do the same.
And then my teacher say out loudly, “ Everyone holds your horses!, We have homework.”
I hear a loud “Boo!”,coming from the students, who were very mad, and I also reached my boiling point. And in my head, I am thinking why do we get homework and does it really help us.
Every day we get homework and about half of me says, “ It’s Useless! Don’t do it!”, and the other half is, “Do it, it will help you out in the long run”. Overall, I think homework does help me learn and it is more important for certain classes, but it is still important.
You might build up so much stress from doing homework, but it’s still significant. The anger that you get from having to do homework is like when your younger sister is bickering at you when you're doing something. But you know you’re going to have to live with it just like homework.
For classes like English and Math, your homework is so important because if you don't do it you won't understand the subject. Homework is a very big thing that you should do so you can do very well on test and quizzes.
Other classes like History or Science, the homework is also a helpful thing to do, but not as helpful for me. The reason why is because I don’t see some of the homework questions being similar with the questions on the quizzes. And at sometimes I use it to study for Exams and I am achieving academic success in all of my classes. So Overall I still think homework is very important because you want to get good grades in classes so you can get a good job or go to a good college.
When I came back to school over that weekend I did my homework even if it was boring and it might have been unnecessary. I still did it and it felt good and that day we had a pop quiz(which was very surprising) and I thought I did great. You can see on other students faces that they were worried about their grades because they didn’t do their homework. And my teacher came over and asked me if I did my homework and I said “Yes, Yes I did” in a glorified way. And that's how homework helps me.
