Dr. Do-little is a people doctor. he is also a pet doctor. His sister Sarah Do-little is the housekeeper. but the doctor looked after the garden himself. Dr. Do-little is clever. and the dogs and children would run up. the crows that lived in the church tower would caw and nod their heads. the house he lived in was quite small. But his garden was big. He had stone seats. He had had goldfish in his garden pond. Their were rabbits in his pantry.
There were mice in his piano. There was a squirrel in the linen closet and a hedgehog in the cellar. he had a cow with an calf,too. His favorite pets were always the same. His sister to grumble about all these animals. She said they made the house untidy. One day a lady from town came to see the doctor. She sat on the hedgehog that was sleeping on the sofa. Imagine Her Surprise! She never came to see the doctor anymore. Instead she drove
every Saturday, all the way town Ten miles off to see a different doctor. Sarah said how do you expect all these sick people to come and all these pets are here. It's a fine doctor, who has his parlor full of Hedgehogs and a mice! I like the animals better than the " best people '. she walked out of the room. the doctor got more and more animals. And the people who came to see him became fewer and fewer. he had no left. Except for one.
