The Door in the wall 2/6/2026

In the middle of the night, I wake up feeling a strange unease. This feeling carries into the next morning, leading me back to the library. On this day, it also feels mysterious. There, in a forgotten corner, I find an old, worn door that is nothing like anything I’ve seen before. Its handle, smooth from years of use, seems out of place in the modern library. Despite its oddness, the door feels both strange and inviting, as if it has been waiting to be discovered. Curious, I tell my friends at school about this discovery. Their reactions range from confusion to excitement, but the sense of adventure spreads quickly. Just as we are about to investigate, the bell rings, delaying our discovery but increasing our anticipation. Filled with questions and excitement about what lies beyond, we decide to open the door later, after school. When the final bell finally releases us, we rush back to the library. The forgotten corner feels even darker now, as if the shadows themselves are holding their breath. We gather around the door, exchanging glances that mix fear with thrill and without patience. With a deep breath, I reach out and pull the handle. The door creaks open slowly, revealing a narrow staircase spiralling downward. A faint glow rises from below, warm and golden, like candlelight flickering against stone walls. The air smells old, and dusty, but also strange. We step inside, one by one, the door closing softly behind us. The library above disappears. whatever lies ahead is bigger than anything seen. And there is no turning back now. As we descend the final steps, the glowing light grows brighter, revealing a vast library. Shelves line the walls, filled with books about caption Cook, David Bazuki, Walt Disney and many more books about more important discoveries. In the centre of the room stands a pedestal, and on it rests a single book bound in deep green leather. Its cover shimmers faintly, as if alive.

We gather around it, unsure whether to touch it or run back up the stairs. The air feels dusty, we keep on sneezing to how dusty it is. Finally, I reach out and open the book. The pages flutter on their own, stopping at a blank sheet that slowly fills with glowing words. They shift and swirl, forming sentences that none of us understands. It was about nukes bombs ww2, ww1 and more about the future, a silence settles over us, but instead of fear, a strange excitement rises. This hidden place and the mysterious door wasn’t an accident. It was an invitation. And now that we’ve stepped through, everything feels different, bigger, more easier. We close the book gently and look at one another. Whatever this place is, whatever it wants from us, we know one thing for certain our ordinary days are over. The mystery that began with a strange unease has opened into something extraordinary, something we can’t ignore. Together, we climb back toward the library, the door waiting quietly behind us. We don’t know what comes next, but we know we’ll face it side by side. And for the first time, the unknown doesn’t feel frightening, it feels like the beginning of an adventure.
It's like someone or something was living down there. We are now called the big 5 for keeping on discovering things together as a group.
