Notes

Icewhisper padded across the icy ground. She was dreaming again. Snow was pelting the ground in thick sheets and she would have to find shelter or she would freeze. She saw a black blur through the blizzard. She shouted out Shadepaw's name but the black blot turned and fled. She started chasing him. A dire sense of emergency overwhelming her heart. "Shadepaw, STOP!" Icewhisper wailed, her breathes were jagged and her throat hurt from all the cold air she was inhaling. Finally, Shadepaw stopped and turned to face her. They were standing beside a cliff. The snow was starting to stick to Icewhisper's ears and she flicked them continuously. Shadepaw gave her a sad look. "I know you aren't happy anymore," He took a few steps back toward the cliff and the she-cat's heart lurched. It's just a dream. It's just a dream. Icewhisper looked down and said, "I am happy..." Shadepaw shook his head. He looked behind her and nodded. Icewhisper flinched when she heard a small mew come from behind her. She turned around to see a small calico kitten. Its small nose twitched at her. Shadepaw walked up to stand by Icewhisper. He rubbed his long tail along her side and licked her cheek. She gave him a startled look and he went to pick the kit up by its scruff. He gave her one last longing look before taking off into the blizzard for the final time.
