Uthman ibn Affan was the third Caliph of Islam and one of the closest companions of Muhammad. He was born in Mecca into the respected Umayyad clan of the Quraysh tribe. Known for his generosity, honesty, and modesty, he accepted Islam in its early days.

Hazrat Usman (R.A.) was a successful merchant who spent much of his wealth to support Muslims. Because he married two daughters of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at different times, he received the title Dhun-Nurayn, meaning “Possessor of Two Lights.”

As Caliph, he expanded the Islamic state and improved its administration. One of his greatest achievements was the compilation and standardization of the Holy Quran. He ordered official copies to be prepared and distributed to different regions, helping preserve the Quran in a single authentic form.

Hazrat Usman (R.A.) was known for his patience, kindness, and devotion to Islam. He was martyred in 656 CE while reciting the Quran. Muslims remember him as a righteous leader whose contributions played a vital role in the preservation and spread of Islam.
Full name: Uthman ibn Affan ibn Abi al-As ibn Umayyah.
Birth: Around 576 CE in Mecca.
