BLUE MOON
Blue moon adalah... Bulan Biru. Namun, Bulan biru ini bukan berarti bulan yang memiliki warna biru, melainkan bulan purnama yang langka dan hanya terjadi 2,5 tahun sekali.
Saat itu, bulan purnama yang tampak bagai bola kekuningan dari permukaan bumi berangsur-angsur membiru dan memang benar-benar biru. Bulan biru – dalam arti sebenarnya – ini muncul akibat debu dan asap yang terbang tinggi menuju atmosfer bumi. Debu dan asap ini membubung tinggi karena letusan gunung berapi atau kebakaran hutan dalam skala besar.
Partikel-partikel kecil melahirkan efek cahaya dan memancarkannya ke beberapa arah. Cahaya berwarna merah mampu menembus debu atau asap. Sementara, cahaya biru – yang lebih lemah daya pancarnya dari cahaya merah tidak mampu menembus asap dan akhirnya membuat bulan terkena refleksi warna birunya. Maka tampaklah bulan biru bulat memancar lembut pada langit malam.
Mungkin itu yang menyebabkan namanya blue moon :v Jadi bukan bulannya warna biru, bulannya tetep kuning, cuma... ada pancaran cahaya dari partikel-partikel yang bergerak menuju atmosfer bumi. :v
